Long-distance move from Oakland, CA to Charlotte, NC

Terrible company!

DO NOT hire this company, their initial quote is always too low and will be raised. Your delivery will be late and your property will be damaged. After all this we had to take them to arbitration. We got the arbitration award and now they won't pay. I've tried contacting them several times and they just decide to ignore me and don't call back. Now I'll go to the courts to move the arbitration award to a judgement so it can be enforced. AVOID THEM!

Lack of communication & punctuality

The dispatchers have been nice. They have good customer service, However, today is Tuesday June 22nd 2021 and I have not heard back from anyone since Saturday June 20th. I have called, left messages, text messages, emailed, and have yet to get a reply. Value Added movers are the moving brokers that contracted me to them. I recommend using PODS or UPACK. Trust me, its worth the additional money, not worth the stress. Our entire life is in that truck somewhere in the US and we have no idea if its in a warehouse or on the road. The quote they gave us more than doubled. On the date and time they were supposed to arrive they were 6 HOURS late from their arrival window and they never called. I had to keep calling. They told me they would not take more than 14 days form the day they pick up, its been 19 days now. Lastly, they told me the truck that picked up our things would be the only truck moving our things and no one else. Lastly, Lastly, I was told they had moved all of our things to a bigger truck thats moving a few families all the way to Florida because Sannah doesnt do interstate moving! So now they are likely with a company we have no idea who they are or what reputation they have. I guess now it depends what order we fall in on the way there.

Official company response

Thank you Alejandro for taking the time to write your valid concerns down, and Sannah Van Lines does wish the very best for your move. Even though Sannah Van Lines wasn't hired as your moving carrier, as you said because we don't do long distance moves, we are happy to hear that we were able to provide you good customer service. We were asked as courtesy from the fellow moving carrier to provide you updates as they were too busy for their call volume. We are happy to help in any way we can to everyone moving this year. Sorry you had a bad experience from the company, not Sannah Van Lines, that did assist you in the interstate travel of your belongings. If there is anything you need, as always, feel free to give us a call and we'll see what we can do.

Great experience!

I will start off by saying moving my mother from location to location is a big worry on my shoulders. I am so happy I was referred to Sannah Van lines! They took care of all her fragile items as if they belonged to their own mom. They were on time and so friendly. Most importantly the estimate I was given was just right. These guys will be in charge of my next move without a doubt! Thankful for Sannah!

Long-distance move from Danville, CA to Moneta, VA

They should be shut down

Long distance "VIP" move from NorCal to VA. They damaged every piece of furniture from dents, tears, and chair legs literally broken off and they couldn't even locate the piece. I have included 2 pictures of damaged items, the poorly wrapped and broken chair as well as the china cabinet with the shattered mirrored backing. All glass shelves were also damaged.

They "lost", most likely stole over $15,000 worth of large items such as 4 mountain bikes, saw horses, mitre saws, 3 Dyson vacuums and more. The truck containing those missing items was lost in transit for days with the only explanation of the truck driver had some personal issues. They literally couldn't contact/find the truck so it arrived 2 weeks late after the first truck.

Other missing items had been loaded into the personal vehicle of the crew supervisor at the pickup location because there wasn't any room left in the second truck. We were told the supervisor was going to meet up with the other trucks in order to transfer the items but we have no proof this ever happened.

The first truck arrived with someone else's items in the back. We paid for a full trailer but that truck left the origin before it was full. We were not given any legible inventory lists and our tags were from 3 different lot numbers but only 1 lot was on the list. was unloaded and there were SEVERAL damaged items. Furniture was not properly wrapped with moving blankets (they didn't bring any), mattress covers and other packing methods used to prevent damage as outlined in the agreement were not used. We were charged for packing materials that weren't used. Items were thrown together in boxes with no wrapping at all. The supervisor proceeded to disappear several times throughout the move and would not respond to phone calls. The crew did not speak english so we had no method of communicating with them when the supervisor was gone.

We have submitted a claim for these items and continue to attempt communication with Sannah to locate them with no results. It is very suspicious that the truck containing the items "disappeared" for days, arrived without expensive items and contained items that were not ours when it left the origin completely full. The first days after we noticed the missing items were from the truck that was missing in transit we contacted Sannah Van Lines and they did not return calls. When a live person would answer they put us on hold, and always came back with the response that they will contact us when they have information. After several more attempts of contacting them with no responses, we eventually spoke with an employee and were given the response that they needed to wait for the trailer to return to the warehouse so they could check the truck. This response was a couple of months after we first reported the issue so the trucks had obviously returned by that point and there was no confirmation of any effort to contact the drivers (specifically of the missing truck) as to where the items could be.

After several months of continued attempts to contact them we have been ignored.

No reported effort has been made to locate our items although Sannah pushed us to create our claim within 90 days or verbally forfeit the items any time within that 90 days (vs the allotted 190 days we were told by CSIpros AFTER filing our claim). If they don't locate items they are forfeited anyway and would not be returned if located. If our items are located after a claim is paid, and they are forfeited to the moving company, exactly what happens to those items. The possibility that they are kept by employees or sold for profit is feasible. It's very convenient to "lose" 4 expensive carbon fiber mountain bikes and pretend you're looking for them until the claim is paid and based on the lack of communication from Sannah Van Lines, and our overall experience with this company, we feel they are being EXTREMELY deceitful.

Basically we have not had a response to our complaint as they refuse to return our calls and emails. We tried to contact Ibrahim Khalifah, CEO directly as well as Haley Khalifah who is listed online as the manager. Neither have returned our calls. They are simply waiting for our claim to be processed and paid so they no longer need to hear from us.

Their business practices are extremely disorganized, unprofessional, and suspect. Ultimately, Sannah Van Lines should be reported, investigated and penalized and shut down.

Move in Thousand Oaks

Oh my god, love, love, love Sannah. I’ve had to move too many times to count and I’ve had the worst experiences. Sannah gave me faith in movers again. They packed up my whole 4000 square foot home and made sure to not break any of my fragiles. This took so much stress off my plate bc I’m a single mom w a full time career and no time to pack! They unloaded my items where I wanted them to go, they helped me un-box my items, and unwrap my furniture. They were on time, trustworthy and they worked hard and were fast. I can’t recommend them enough. I’ll never use another moving company. Plus, I hate writing reviews so this means something! KH, Thousand Oaks, Ca.

My moving experience!

"Wonderful experience with this moving company! I chose to have them come out and do and in-home estimate for me, as well as a couple other companies. I chose them because I felt the compassion with them whereas the others were simply "doing their job" so to speak. Pricing was reasonable and better than most. On my move day everyone was so organized and prepared I was astonished. They started wrapping my furniture right away, then fully packed my entire house very carefully but efficiently. Most of all the movers were kind and friendly and just made my hectic moving life a breeze. Then they staged my new home for me and really went above and beyond, even with my excessive nitpicking at them because I am a perfectionist. Bless their hearts, thank you very much to the crew of Sannah Van Lines you helped make a great a start to my new year!"

Long-distance move from Los Angeles, CA to Boston, MA

Broken promises, up-charges, terrible customer service

I held off writing this review for several weeks in hopes that they may turn things around, but they have not, and i feel the need to warn people about this company. I truly do not understand how they have positive reviews and assume they have planted these or paid for them.

I have been without furniture for over a month after being told my items would arrive 3 weeks ago. You cannot get in touch with any person to speak to about this - they have a nice lady who is a middleman but unfortunately there is literally no way to speak to a person.

They arrived a day late to pick up my things.

They told me 4 different prices and tried to charge me more money at literally every step of the way (despite promising this was their final price). When you object, they say they will leave all your furniture on the street.

My items were picked up and then sat in a warehouse for over 2 weeks and I still have no idea if/when they will ever arrive.

I have NEVER dealt with a worse company and would strongly encourage anyone considering them for your move to RUN AWAY.

I was given false promises by David and Michael. The moment after you pay them, you will never be able to reach anyone again and your furniture is hostage. I have called and been hung up on, and now they won’t even answer the phone.

DO NOT PAY THIS COMPANY A CENT. Shame on all of them.

Scam Artist

We were told that our belongs took 1200 cubic feet, but when they were delivered I measured and verified that it was 620 cubic feet. They have not yet responded to my request for a refund of the fraudulent charge for the 580 cubic feet that was not used. We are owed $2757 as a refund based on our agreed rate of $4.25/cuft plus 12% fuel surcharge. Zero communication from Sannah so far.

THE WORST!

We contracted this company for a move to Michigan. They are not a long distance mover, but failed to tell us that. Not only did they charge us three times the original quote, they took three times the time to deliver my belongings. They did not leave California for three weeks and arrived a month after they were picked up. They finally arrived in an unmarked truck with no ramp for the truck or equipment to move the goods. They received the balance of money that was owed and then asked for more because they had to wait for45minutes for us to arrive. By the way, they never notified us when they were arriving. A car full of teenagers arrived to unload. They had no idea what they were doing. While moving the desk, he could not carry by himself, all the paperwork in the drawers came flying out and flew all over. They left half the boxes and some furniture outside and left. . They never brought it in! This whole move was a NIGHTMARE!!!

Absolute worst experience

This company seem unprofessional and possibly a scam. Stay clear if you do not want to be ripped off. They will give you a low quote, then on moving day they will double the price, and if you do not go with the double price they will keep your deposit for a service they have not fulfilled. I was moving across the country and needed a moving company. Sannah Van Lines' quote of $4K looked good and the representative on the phone was very professional and nice. I paid the deposit $827 two months in advance and followed up several times with the company as we got closer to the move date. On the day of the move the movers showed up at 6pm at night. They looked unprofessional and not ready to move. The “crew” did not seem to have any packaging materials with them like they knew that there would be no move today. When they examined our packed belongings they said we have twice as much as in our quote hence we need to pay $8K. The thing is that we had exactly the amount of items we listed for the quote so we did not have any extra stuff as they claimed. When we told them that we would not pay double they said they won't move our stuff. So we asked for our deposit back. Then they said that they would not give our deposit back because we did not show up on moving day. Really? The entire neighborhood saw them!

Long-distance move from Las Vegas, NV to Sevierville, TN

Moving cross country

This is a Horrible moving company , you get nothing but a run around They lie, Steal, and Damage your belongings. We took pictures of everything coming off the truck, PLUS they didn’t even give us an inventory of our belongs . The cost to go from Las Vegas to Sevierville Tn was over $22,000. On moving day they were late and showed up in Two U haul trucks and had to come back the following day. When they delivered to Tn the one mover had to wait till he got help and the company wouldn’t send anyone so he hired someone off Craig’s list they finally came to help after he paid them out of his pocket. When they opened up the truck our belongings were put way in the back of the truck and Two other families were in front, so they had to unload the Whole truck to get to ours . They finally finished the job at 11:48pm , the other peoples stuff was in the rain. We have A lot of things missing and broken. Our items were in their storage locker for a month, everything has Black grease all over, Broken furniture, Dented appliances that were New , they even dented a Safe. We turned in a claim and they settled for $752.00 Sept) then we were told by claims that if we wanted anymore we would have to get ahold of Sannah Van Lines, we did and were told that we have to email. There was a guy named Joshua , which I was told today is no longer working for the company. When he did work there we did everything he told us to do and take pictures, put everything in writing to the claims dept, we did and that was a nightmare. I have so Many notes from talking to people it’s not funny. So today I got fed up and told Shanique that if we do not hear from some by the end of this week, we Will make out a police report of damages and Stolen property, and lost items. We were told we have to file in Las Vegas because that’s were the Crime took place . They even damaged a hot tub. Asked for a Supervisor and always told email, no one is available. So I told her we are clear across country , but if needed we will go back to Vegas to make out a Theif report, Damages, and missing items. They Stole my Jewelry up right Chest that mounts on the wall with ALOT of jewerly in it that can’t be replaced. Also damaged an antique roll top desk . Lost Two Big screen TVs. Many many more items, broken curio pieces, damaged my double lighted curio cabinet, clothes are missing, BUT Get This they gave us someone’s else’s furniture, a piece of bedroom furniture, which had keep sake things in the drawer. SO LONG STORY ShOrt , DANGER , STAY AWAY FROM SANNAH VAN LINES, NOTE: Joshua told us they found Four of our boxes and as soon as he has a truck heading our way he will have them put it on the truck to bring it to us. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. Please if you value your belongings and keepsakes and Valuables then STOP DONT USE THEM . They will cause you headache.I wish the owner would call us

Duplicity and deception

I contracted for a cross country move, then pivoted to a local move 100 miles north. Raymond with sales said he would send updated contract and cost. After repeated calls, it wasn't until the morning of the move I was given the updated cost, verbally not written, which was exorbitant. Time of arrival was not communicated until night before by then too late to adjust elevator reservation. On day of move due to Sannahs late arrival, another tenant had reserved the elevator, which meant it would involve more steps from apartment to truck.

Then I was told I would be charged a long haul fee. I sent them on their way losing my 400 dollar deposit, so glad I did. No telling what else would have gone wrong. Worst moving company I've ever dealt with, caused me much stress.

Don't use. Just a money grab!

When you hire a moving company you are entrusting all of your belongings to them. So you expect that your items will be delivered in a safe and timely manor. Here's my experience: none of the above. It's been over a month since the movers picked up our things -we moved to CA from OH, and not one person can tell us a date for drop off. Clearly the most incompetent Organization I’ve ever seen. Wendy and Hannah combined of Sannah Van Lines don’t possess adequate intelligence to even lie well. Update: Terrible settlment Process. I filed the claim form for document on 02/03/23. After a LONG back and forth, I accepted of settlement form through CSI (Their third party settlement processing company) on 05/31/23. It is currently 07/26/2023 and there are no check received as a 45 days promised.

Short Review: Unprofessional (Expect a long exhausting fight with their customer service just to get your stuff delivered), Stealer (Loss of Package with no resolution), and lier (DO NOT trust what they said, it is different than what they lure you to sign the contract).

Long Review:

Disrespectful customer service, hung up in the middle of the call. Delayed return call, unprofessional attitude, dragging delivery date(from 1-3 days before signing contracts to 1-7 days when talked to movers then 2-21 days, and dragging time and hours on delivery date). Terrible communication between drivers, dispatcher and customer service My expected delivery date was 3 days after picked up (assured by movers and stated in contract) but did not get delivered until 20 days after lots of pressures and hundreds of calls and complains from me. My items was damaged from rough handling and humidity upon delivery.

Long-distance move from Des Moines, IA to Atlanta, GA

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY

This has been by far the WORST experience I have ever had with a moving company. We first booked through Empire Moving Group. Come to find out, they're a broker. So the day of our move, we have the movers show up. We had to give $6000+ on the spot in cash. They told us that our things would be delivered in 5-10 business days, and that we should be on the lookout for a phone call or email when everything would be loaded. It took us over 40 business days to get our things. We tried calling, emailing, texting both Empire and Sannah more times than I can even count. More than half the time we couldn't get in touch with them. It was always sent straight to voicemail, or just ignored. On the rare occasion that we did get in touch with an actual human being, we were either hung up on or told "we don't know". When we finally DID get our things, we were contacted at midnight 7 weeks later, and weren't given any time frame of when they would be arriving. They contacted me 30 minutes before they were at our house. I was told I HAD to give them cash, no wire transfer, venmo, check, no- cash in the full amount before they would even come to our house. When I refused, he came anyway and demanded cash. I told him I didn't trust to give cash and would like a paper trail, so they couldn't claim that we didn't pay. He ended up leaving WITH OUR STUFF because he was "hungry". After we got the money situation figured out (turns out, they DID accept Venmo after we threatened lawyers), he came back 4 hours later with a guy he met on Craig's List and unloaded our things. He was trying to throw our stuff around, hit the walls, break things (the Craig's List guy actually ended up ripping him a new one for this) and refused to honor the contract to put our things back together. THEN had the audacity to linger in my driveway for 45 minutes because I refused to tip him (I tipped Craig's List). My husband was at work, so I was alone dealing with this and almost called the police on this man.

Where to start. Hours late no heads up. Supposed to have 3 guys had 2 as one was so high or coming down the lead guy kept getting sick in my bathrooms. 3rd guy showed up another 2 hours late. Had them fighting like in face no space in front of my house. Was using my stuff as a frisbee. Drug freezers and scratches the floor and item. Complains how they are over worked for $200 a day and thats why they need tips. Then cant give a straight answer about where my stiff is going. Finally worried that my stuff will ruin the new bike one bought as worried my stuff would fall on the moving space i paid for. Long-distance move from Madison, WI to Laveen, AZ

Do not use!

I'll just give the highlights of our nightmare. I've never moved across country before. I called around and ended up going with AllCoastMovingGroup and worked with our Relocation Specialist, Alexis Miller. We verbally went through our 1 bedroom house and what needed to be moved which included crating 2 motorcycles. She estimated $5,367.12 sight unseen. Which seemed strange to me but she assured me that a QA person would come out to our house a week prior to my June 2/3 move date and give an accurate estimate. This was just to get us going. I paid $1,976.71 to lock us in. They lowball you to get you. I was later told by Alexis that they do QA over the phone via pictures and video. A week before our move, we get a call from Robert QA and am told he can't receive pictures or video. We sent him a complete inventory list of everything along with dimensions. New quote was $13,301.24 and we needed to pay another $3,500. Sannah Van Lines come June 3 at 3:30pm in a beat up cracked windshield delivery truck. Safuen, lead guy said we have WAY more things and said "worse case scenario" it will be an additional $14,000. They took 2 truckloads to their "warehouse" where our things would be shrink-wrapped on pallets and motorcycles crated. Final estimate ended up being $22,233.75 from WI to AZ. June 9 I get a phone call stating I need to Zelle the remaining pickup balance before they will deliver. We have paid $15,665.29 so far and STILL have not received our items 2 days past the promised date of June 13. Cannot get answers from anyone! Do not be naïve like me and put your faith in this CRAP company!
